New make up brushes from eBay!

Earlier this week I got a super exciting package through the post. It can't just be me that finds letters/packages really exciting!? But this one was even better because inside was the new make up brushes I had ordered from eBay. I've been looking into getting these brushes for quite a while now because I always here Gabby from Velvetgh0st on YouTube rave about them. So I took the plunge and decided to order some.

I ordered the 8 piece set in silver. The set comes with 4 face brushes and 4 eye brushes (the "bobbi brown" make up sponge was sent as a gift... weird?). They are all so so soft and apply make up beautifully. I have found some good uses for all of the brushes and they will be in the caption of each picture. They are such good value for money! I just checked on eBay to find you all the link and they have gone down in price since I paid for them! I believe I paid £11.24 or something silly, now they are only £9.58 so a real bargain if you are looking for some new make up brushes which are high quality but you don't want to pay an arm and a leg for them! You can get them here.

Angled face brush - I use this for foundation.

Tapered brush - I use this for contouring as it's not super stiff but stiff enough.
Rounded brush, similar to the real techniques expert face brush - Again I use this for my foundation.
Fluffier brush, it's like a stippling brush - I use this for powder or blush.
Angled brush and rounded brush - Excellent at applying eye shadow.
Tapered eye brush which I use for the lower lash line. Small stipple type brush which I use for concealer.

Easy Burger and Chips | 2014 Blogger Challenge

Hey everyone! I'm so sorry for the lack of posts lately, I've literally been drowning in revision for my mock exams that I never had a spare hour to jump online and write a blog post for you. I'm thinking of writing a post about revision resources soon, let me know what you think! Anyway, onto the real reason for this post. Today's post is for the 2014 Blogger Challenge, and it is all about a recipe of your choice. "Burger and Chips" doesn't seem like the most amazing thing but it is by far my favourite meal to cook for my mum and dad if they don't know what to have for tea one night - it's quick and easy!
Serves: 4

Ingredients
Lettuce, Tomato, Cucumber - whatever you like in a burger.
Burger Buns
Cheese (if you wish to make a cheese burger)
500g of Minced Beef
1/2 an onion
4 potatoes
A little olive/sunflower oil
Seasoning

Method
  1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees C/200 degrees C for a fan assisted oven/gas mark 7.
  2. Put the beef into a bowl. Season well.
  3. Chop the onion finely onto a chopping board. You can have as little or as much onion as you want. Depending on what you prefer.
  4. Add the onion into the bowl with the mince in. Use a fork to break up the strands of beef up. After a while you can use your hands to mash the mince together until it is in a round ball.
  5. Cut up the potatoes into "wedges" of potatoes. You can cut them as thin or as thick as you like.
  6. Place the potatoes on a baking tray. Drizzle with oil and season well.
  7. Place the potatoes into the oven for 30 minutes.
  8. Whilst the potatoes are cooking, divide the mince into equally sized balls, squish these to make them into burger shapes. The amount in the ball can vary, depending on how thick you want the burgers to be.
  9. Heat a frying pan (skillet) until hot and add the burgers. You may not be able to fit all burgers into one frying pan so you may have to have 2 pans on the go. No need to add oil.
  10. Cook the burgers through, roughly 7 minutes on each side. When you are waiting for one side to cook, take the potatoes out of the oven to flip them over so they get cooked evenly. There is no need to move the burgers around because they will cook themselves.
  11. Cook the burgers until they are brown through the middle and cooked thoroughly.
  12. When everything is cooked, drain the burgers so you get all of the fat out of them.
  13. Make your burger to how you would want it using the lettuce, cucumber, tomato etc., add the sauces you wish and add the chips/wedges to the plate.

Nail tools | 2014 Blogger Challenge

Today's post for the 2014 Blogger Challenge is all about nails. This post could have been about anything really, from nail care to nail art tutorials. I decided to share with you my favourite nail tools for creating more than just a plain block of colour on each nail.
I never realised, until YouTube and blog etc, that tools actually existed that could make your nails look super cute and snazzy. I always watch nail art tutorials for new ideas and designs, creating them on your own nails however is a different story. They make it look easy, but then I suppose these tools make it a little easier.

I had make up sponges for ages but didn't really like them for applying make up, but then I found a whole different use for them. Nail art. You apply two or more different colour nail polishes to one side of the sponge, dab them onto your nail and voila! A lovely ombre effect nail.

Other tools that I use are these dotting tools which are from Amazon. They are so super cheap but do the job perfectly. You simple dip the dotting tool into the nail polish then create whatever design you want on your nail. Link here

Sellotape. As strange as it sounds, sellotape is the easiest thing to create cool designs on your nails. You simply cut pieces of sellotape up, stick them on your already applied base coated nail, then apply another colour on top, peel the pieces of sellotape off whilst the polish is still wet then you have a cool design.
